The Choice, Intuition and Meditation

A close friend asked me about a tough decision they had to make between writing a book and working. I didn't know which way to advise as I've been having similar dilemmas myself.

What does this have to with Choices? My friend had picked up a book from the 3 I had taken on my trip. Some laugh at the thought of me reading, I just occasionally carry some around in case I have time to catch up on my library. What is important is out of all the books I could have taken and the one that was picked up, it was Og Mandino's The Choice.

Flicking randomly to page 60 and continuing to read...
“Neither you nor I, in our wildest dreams, ever came close to imagining that all this would be happening to us. Knowing you, if you had seen it coming, you probably never would have written the book. But it has happened and I'm not certain, yet, that you realise what you've done... if sales continue as they are going, you are certain to become the bestselling author of all time, even bigger than anyone else [in the field]. And those nice people out there, who must be getting so much from your book, deserve to know the [person] behind it. Forget the money and the fame and all the other so-called benefits you would receive from all that exposure on television and in the press, and think, instead, of the thousands who are reaching out to you. You can't turn your back on them because it doesn't happen to fit in with your lifestyle. You can't! If you really believe in that book, and I know you do , then you've got to come out of your tower and let the world see you, know you... and love you. You've got to...”
It was like they were just talking to me and not reading from a book. It sent a shiver down my spine to realise it was what was printed on that page. For that page to be picked from the books I'd brought, out of all those that I had and all those that were in print. Well that answered their question (and possibly mine) without the need to read anything else or anymore, intuitive reading was the term used. I opened at another page and it was a loads of irrelevant words. I'm going to have to let go and let flow on the intuition if I'm ever to find my purpose for being...

A few days later I came across my Trust Your Vibes Oracle Deck by Sonia Choquette

I thought I'd give it a shuffle and glimpsed the 'learning' and 'meditate' cards as I did. Meditation is definitely not for someone as busy as me. So, after I'd shuffled the cards I felt for one and then let my intuition lead me to another. And the card it pulled... 'meditate.'

Is the universe trying to tell me something? Wherever I seem to go and however busy I am, I keep getting told to slow down to let things catch up. Been getting this a lot now, so maybe it is now time to pay attention and relax.

Why don't you join me in taking a time out for 5 minutes to just breathe.

If there's anything important that I've really learnt over the last year, it is to stop and pay attention to my breathing. It is something simple that we really do forget to do sometimes, just focus on your breathing now and notice how it feels. Is it light or heavy, deep or shallow? In and out... that's right...

Sonia Choquette says that 15 minutes of meditating is all you need to increase your intuitive awareness. With your channels more open, you’ll be better able to pick up on things you are saying and doing that come from your mask and not your soul. Breathe in slowly to the count of 4 seconds. Exhale to the count of four seconds. Repeat for 15 minutes, once a day. When thoughts enter your mind, don’t dwell on them, just let them pass in a detached way.

The great thing is that winter is upon us, a great time to gather your food and nuts and go meditate on what spring will bring. Is that what animals do when they hibernate? Maybe they are smarter than us!

For those that know me well, I sometimes go off on one, say things that I don't mean to cause hurt - and at other times I'll laugh when it's not funny (like at funerals, really)! What can I do? Not do it and lose all those really happy moments that we have shared because of it?
I don't complete my sentences at times, assuming ESP will deliver the message, allowing things to be taken out of context. So if I am to take responsibility, it is the quality of my communication that determine the results in my life. The cost of our learnings can be high, whether it be in opportunities missed or friendships lost. Should we not try in fear of failing? Not talk to others in case we offend? Maybe I should think before speaking at risk of missing the moment?
Or just step out, simply live and make smile, as well as cry! Everything is just feedback, so no need to panic or worry, just refine and carry on living with better results. Don't repeat the same mistakes over and over, there are plenty of new ones to trip you up on the way... lol...

The great thing is, as an optimist, anything that is lost, can easily be found again! Opportunities will come your way again, friends will be found, whether they are the same or new ones. All as easily as your feet will find the path that you are destined to travel... Just keep your eyes and heart open and let your true feelings guide you. Trust Your Vibes! :-)
