20 Transformational Truths From Sages Throughout the Ages

Throughout the ages, there have been many who have had gotten a taste of incredibly mesmerizing higher states of consciousness. Rather than keep their experiential knowledge and wisdom about the higher and deeper elements of existence to themselves they spread the word to others, be it through spoken word, written works, or other methods. Thanks to the sages, luminaries, spiritual teachers, thinkers, and every-day people who had an enlightening experience we can ignite the light of expanded awareness about the higher and deeper aspects of the human experience and of existence itself from such people. When the future looks bleak and the motivation to excel and advance seems pointless we can look up to those who have lived and are still alive who possess that inner wisdom which they had realized through their own personal experiences of an enlightened state of awareness.

The transformational truths that such guiding lights to humanity express to us can raise our level of hope once more to the domain of energy that makes us more proactive. Reignited excitement and passion can drive us closer to the successes we imagined and dreamed would come true. We are all capable of incredible feats. Ask yourself if your state of mind is stopping you from realizing that realized life success story that you undoubtedly had played within your head so many times before.

Don’t let it stay a dream, let it become a reality. Living in the 21st century of our archaic timeline we have the amazing opportunity to taste such consciousness-shifting words of wisdom and we will take a look at 20 such enlightening truths from sages throughout the ages. Allow for these timeless words nourish your mind, heart and soul.

Transformational Truth 1
A human being is a part of a whole, called by us a universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest … a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.
Albert Einstein

Transformational Truth 2
You should be an island to yourself, a refuge to yourself, not dependent on any other but taking refuge in the truth and none other than the truth. And how do you become an island and a refuge to yourself? In this way. You see and contemplate your body as composed of all the forces of the universe. Ardently and mindfully you steer your body-self by restraining your discontent with the world about you. In the same way, observe and contemplate your feelings and use that same ardent restraint and self-possession against enslavement by greed or desire. By seeing attachment to your body and feelings as blocking the truth, you dwell in self-possession and ardent liberation from those ties. This is how you live as an island to yourself and a refuge to yourself. Whoever dwells in this contemplation, islanded by the truth and taking refuge in the truth–that one will come out of the darkness and into the light.
The Digha Nikaya

Transformational Truth 3
“Life is what you make it,” this is very true.
Find beauty and magic in all things,
and the Love that sees you through.
When you look at the world where you live,
seek not your gain, but what you can give.
When a man is poor, and hungers, and thirsts,
serve not yourself til you serve this man first.
When a man is down and seeks shelter from cold, give him shelter.
You’ll receive blessings untold.
Live by the Golden Rule:
Do unto others as you’d have done unto you.
And always remember:
When you destroy, you destroy a part of you, too.
Life is what you make of it!
Unknown

Transformational Truth 4
Loving this world, seeing the beauty in everything.
Appreciating every moment as a beautiful, wholly contained,
pearl of eternal nature, this is the world to me.
A never ending string of pearls…. every moment is in and of it’s self a life time,
and when we have affection and let ourselves experience life without expectation…
that is when the majesty of the world opens her petals to us…
And welcomes us home.
Carlos Castaneda

Transformational Truth 5
We may liken truth to a mountain, and the various interpretations of that truth to different paths leading up to the summit. Many people are traveling along all of these paths and every one, while he is at the bottom, thinks his path is the only one; he sees only a small part of the mountain, and may therefore be justified in crying to his brothers, “You are wrong! Come over to my path; this is the only one that leads to the top.” But as all these people progress upward, they will see that the paths converge at the top and that they are all one in the ultimate.
Max Heindel

Transformational Truth 6
Stop attributing names and shapes to the essentially nameless and formless, realize that every mode of perception is subjective, that what is seen or heard, touched or smelled, felt or thought, expected or imagined, is in the mind and not in reality, and you will experience peace and freedom from fear.
Nisargadatta Maharaj

Transformational Truth 7
Do not believe anything
because it is said by an authority,
or if it is said to come from angels,
or from gods,
or from an inspired source.
Believe it only if you have explored it
in your own heart
and mind and body
and found it to be true.
Work out your own path,
through diligence.
Gautama Buddha

Transformational Truth 8
Every man has his woman within him and every woman has her man within her. Only the meditator comes to know his whole being. Suddenly his inner woman and the inner man melt and merge into each other. That creates an orgasmic state in him. Now it is no more a momentary experience that comes and goes; it is something that continues, day in and day out, like the heart beating or breathing.
Osho

Transformational Truth 9
When you find the way
Others will find you
Passing by on the road
They will be drawn to your door
The way that cannot be heard
will be reflected in your voice
The way that cannot be seen
Will be reflected in your eyes
Lao Tzu

Transformational Truth 10
When we experience the pain of another person, we instinctively want to take away that pain. But by taking away the other person’s pain, we also take away his or her opportunity to grow. To be truly compassionate, we must be able to share another person’s suffering and pain — knowing there is nothing we can do to relieve it and that we are not responsible for it, and yet knowing and understanding what that pain feels like.
John Gray

Transformational Truth 11
How people see the world is often a reflection of how they see themselves. If they think that the world is just a cesspool of lies and deceit, then they themselves may be full of lies and deceit. Watch out for those people who are always telling you just how corrupt the rest of the world is. As the saying goes, “It takes one to know one.”
David J. Lieberman

Transformational Truth 12
Throw away holiness and wisdom,
and people will be a hundred times happier.
Throw away morality and justice,
and people will do the right thing.
Throw away industry and profit,
and there won’t be any thieves.
If these three aren’t enough,
just stay at the center of the circle
and let all things take their course
Lao Tzu

Transformational Truth 13
Ego is a structure that is erected by a neurotic individual who is a member of a neurotic culture against the facts of the matter. And culture, which we put on like an overcoat, is the collectivized consensus about what sort of neurotic behaviors are acceptable.
Terence McKenna

Transformational Truth 14
Keep your thoughts positive, because your thoughts become your words.
Keep your words positive, because your words become your behaviors.
Keep your behaviors positive, because your behaviors become your habits.
Keep your habits positive, because your habits become your values.
Keep your values positive, because your values become your destiny.
Ghandi

Transformational Truth 15
All the forms of Life in the Universe may be looked upon as being manifestations of the One and Universal Principle of Life in various forms; the whole of the Cosmos, being a product of the Universal Mind, may be regarded as universal, absolute consciousness becoming relative in separate forms. The universal consciousness of the Universal Mind forms spiritual centres of consciousness in living beings, whereby each being may feel and know its surroundings; and as the kind of living beings expands, their consciousness and power of sensation and perception expand with it; for all their powers belong to the mind. and not to the body: the latter without the mind is merely a form without life.
Franz Hartmann

Transformational Truth 16
If we understood the power of our thoughts, we would guard them more closely.
If we understood the awesome power of our words, we would prefer silence to almost anything negative.
In our thoughts and words we create our own weaknesses and our own strengths.
Our limitations and joys begin in our hearts.
We can always replace negative with positive. Bettie Eadie

Transformational Truth 17
Since time without beginning, the nature of Awakened Mind and Emptiness has consisted of the same, absolute non-duality of no birth or death, no existence or non-existence, no purity or impurity, no movement or stillness, no young or old, no inside or outside, no shape and form, no sound and color. Neither striving nor searching, one should not use intellect to understand nor words to express Awakened Mind. One should not think that it is a place or things, name or form. One should not think that it is a place or things, name or form. Only then is it realized that all Buddhas, Bodhisattvas and sentient beings possess the same natural state of great Nirvana.
Huang Po

Transformational Truth 18

As human beings we all want to be happy and free from misery. We have learned that the key to happiness is inner peace. The greatest obstacles to inner peace are disturbing emotions such as anger and attachment, fear and suspicion, while love and compassion, a sense of universal responsibility are the sources of peace and happiness.
Dalai Lama

Transformational Truth 19
There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance. We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create. Evolution and all hopes for a better world rest in the fearlessness and open-hearted vision of people who embrace life.
John Lennon

Transformational Truth 20
Greet everyone you meet with a warm smile, no matter how busy you are.
Don’t rush encounters with coworkers, family and friends.
Speak softly. Listen attentively.
Act as if every conversation you have is the most important thing on your mind today.
Look your children and your partner in the eyes when they talk to you.
Stroke the cat, caress the dog.
Lavish love on every living being you meet.
See how different you feel at the end of the day.

Look After Where You Live - Healthy Body and Mind

This is my journey through health and nutrition in the last year.  Due to various health issues, dis-ease and stress, I decided to research things that would benefit me and make my life better, I consider it 'health' or 'home insurance', as things had gotten so bad that I needed to ensure I have somewhere to 'live' in the future and call home. So never mind about the stories for now, on how we got here, lets move forward with the solutions.  Here are my findings…

Of course there could be an entire book on each section, so be grateful I've put the 'highlights' into one short(ish) blog post for you to check out. (That was the intention and I have been adding bits since I started).
This has been compiled from many random ideas and areas, so may not 'flow' so well but all the information I want to share can be found if you read it all, then back to front and dip into the different sections.

This is what I'd recommend that you look at and USE to find out if it is good and works for you.
Of course it takes work and habit building to get used to a diet change (diet meaning "what you eat" not "lose weight plan"). Once you do make the changes though, you'll feel better for it.

Buying REAL food will cost more money than you're used to, I know as I spent most of my money on this in the last year.  But if you don't invest in yourself and prefer to waste it on other stuff, then that's your choice.  People always find time and money to spend on those things they VALUE. Is valuing your health, nutrition and wellbeing more important than everything else?
Look after your body as it's the only place you have to live.

Remember your diet and food intake is only part of the important stuff to ensure you have somewhere to live (your body).

As well as the food stuff listed below, also keep in check your mind, associations and environment.  I'm going to cover the basics of the others briefly.

The issue is never what you originally think it is or as complicated. Remember a car (your body) is a complicated machine but it usually only takes a small simple part/nut/bolt that may become loose and cause problems elsewhere in the vehicle. It's about finding that small tweak that you need, diet helps but you also need to check on all the other factors.
You can go see a mechanic/specialist (doctor, energy healer, acupuncturist, herbalist, homeopath etc.) or if they can't find the problem, keep looking and maybe train/become a specialist yourself. It does not take as long as 'they' want you to believe to become knowledgeable about anything, you just need to be good at asking questions, finding answers and listening/learning.

What goes in is what comes out, so GIGO (garbage in=garbage out). This applies to your physical body through digestion and your mind.  Your mind is very powerful and will manifest most of your ill health and dis-ease, so  dealing with the food intake is only a small part of getting back to full and vital health.

Body: What you eat (covered below) and exercise. Check out "4 Hour Body by Tim Ferris" book for the exercise stuff. Create better habits for eating and exercising.  Even if you just start with gentle exercise such as swimming and a sauna. http://fourhourbody.com/

Mind: Relax and meditate more.  Meditation has two forms, there is the stuff that relaxes you and puts you to sleep and then there is the wakeful meditation, that wakes you up and makes you AWARE of everything.
The Vortex by Abraham Hicks http://www.abraham-hicks.com/

Use your computer less or mindfully. Safari Browser add-on 'Mindful Browsing' - http://www.mindfulbrowsing.com can block access to time wasting sites like Facebook and Gmail etc.
Firefox Browser use 'Consciousness Bell' to stop and become mindful for a moment: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/consciousness-bell/
Go to the bar at the top of Firefox Browser, then Tools > Add-Ons > Extensions > Consciousness Bell > Preferences, to change the settings

Habits- become aware, choose to consciously stop, stop, replace with new empowering habit. Don't beat yourself if you slip, just breathe and start again.

Remember these are my experiences and may not work for you. (Although your resistance might be from your mind to the idea of changing)

Associations: Avoid people that talk negative, always seem to have problems, bring you down.  Seek out and replace them with people that are positive, work their way through things, uplift your soul!
It is common sense - you don't need to save anyone, it's THEIR journey, dump them if it is affecting you! Nope don't need to hear your rationalisation and excuses/reasons.

Environment: The things that are around you and what you allow to enter your mind and body.
TV, media, radio, where you live and work/career.  Avoid watching crap TV. Don't read/listen to 'News' daily (if it's important for you, you will hear about it eventually).  I'm not saying ignore the 'bad' (perceived) news, just see the benefits of it and solutions - not the fear and problems they are selling!
A lot of the stuff that you see and hear throughout the day is subliminal and you unconsciously pick it up, be aware of it and reject it. Are those that live around you inspiring or is it time to move?
Fill the gaps with good material (films, documentaries, books, audios) that inspires you and supports you. Find a hobby you enjoy to keep you busy and occupied.
Don't give your 'energy' to pendulums and false idols that will feed off it, ie. don't get emotionally invested in some other celebrity's journey or TV show. Put that emotional investment into your own life.

Sunlight - make sure you go out in the sun as often as possible. Not too long that it burns you though, best times are early morning or late afternoon. Lack of sun affect you in winter? Get a SAD (seasonal affected disorder) light from http://www.sad.org.uk/recommended.php
If lack of sunlight affects you that much, move somewhere sunny.

Oxygen - Remember to BREATHE. Properly and deeply. Can help with doing aerobic exercise and/or listening to breathing meditation CDs. I still need to work on my breathing regularly, sometimes breathing shallow or forgetting to breathe properly.  Of ALL the personal development events and seminars I've been to this is the MOST important lesson I've ever learned.

Work - do you enjoy your job? If not see if you can improve conditions, eg. Transfer to different department, ask to go on a training course to improve your skills, work from home, ask for flexible hours. Really dislike it? Get a new job or start a business on the side.
Many businesses can be started cheaply, provide training, you can do part-time and from home.
Look into Internet Marketing business which you can do from anywhere in the world from a laptop, for example: check out www.NetworkMillionaire.net/biz/

Energy: This will be noticed more by sensitive people, especially if your energy is low or not well protected it will be affected by weather change, big 'news' on Earth, other planetary effects, other people around you.
Look after your energy fields and your sensitivity around other people.  A lot more can be said on this but it still won't answer your questions. To keep it simple look after your energy, rest if you need to; say 'No' to requests if you don't feel like it, stay away from people that make you feel 'bad' and find out more about managing your energy.

“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.” -Nikola Tesla

Energy blockages are from the past/present/future when something happened to you or somebody said something, you interpreted it a certain way and locked it in. Be responsible for your own thoughts and how you react to situations.
Learn to trust people more. If they betray that trust, forgive them, remember the lessons learned and move on.  Being defensive may protect you but it also limits your experience and learning. Don't grip onto heartache and bad feelings.

Hope I covered enough there, see my compiled food info below.

Don't believe everything I write about, research it yourself and most importantly try it out and experience it for yourself.
None of it is likely to kill you, slow death foods can be bought from McDonalds and your local supermarkets (read the ingredients on labels). Quicker death supplements can be prescribed by your regular doctors (read the warning labels).

>> Use Google to find out more info on these products and why they are beneficial/good for you, then try them out <<

Regards,
Bobby

P.S. Please share the link to this page if you find it of value (it took me a few hours to write and months of education and experimentation on myself)

-----------

You know what to avoid! Usually you just don't want to as you are addicted to the products.
Stop buying them or keeping them in your fridge, even if it is for your partner/family etc. If they want crap, let them go out and get it for themselves.  They may even benefit from the good stuff that you are going to take. (my 4 and 7 year old nephews love to try new stuff I get, especially the different juices and they've taken a liking to chia seed too!)

So let's get the "what to avoid" list out of the way first. By 'avoid' I mean things you know you should 'cut down' on as much as you can/are prepared to:
Alcohol
Sugar
Wheat
Dairy
Coffee
Meat
Refined food
Processed crap
Fast food
Fake juices and flavoured water (read the label to see if the main ingredients are water, then SUGAR)
Replace your regular salt and pepper with whole pepper and rock salts, that you need to use a grinder for. You will find that they also taste much better as well.
Regular fruit and vegetables, as many as 50 pesticides can be found on many of them and you can only wash off so much, the rest of course finds its way into the food and into your body.
Companies and food producers are not required to label GMO (genetically modified) foods, fruit, veg. So if it doesn't say "Organic" it probably isn't (Google:"Monsanto")
Buy ORGANIC Fruit and vegetable whenever you can!
You can't always guarantee an Organic 'label' as it costs money but your local health food shop will be able to tell you the source of their products and if they are 'natural' (eg. grown in the wild/Amazon etc.)  You can also tell after eating the organic/real/natural fruit and nuts if it tastes 'real' and natural or is relatively tasteless and processed.
It is supermarket 'packaged' products you have to watch out for that is not labelled Organic!

If you must eat meat and eggs, make sure it is locally farm reared. When you eat it, think about and be grateful for the animal that you're about to consume.
Eat consciously, read labels and research non-natural ingredient names you do not understand to find out what addictive and/or dangerous chemicals companies encourage you to put in your bodies so they can make profit.

Food:
Dark Leafy Greens - Kale, spinach, asaparagus, broccoli
Hemp Seeds (contain all 22 amino acids, and a balanced ratio of essential fatty acids)
Nuts
- Chia seed for Omega 3 (organic, dark) - sprinkle on food or mix with water to drink - contain essential fats, dietary fibre, protein, vitamins and minerals
- Brazil nuts (organic) contains good quantities of vitamins, anti-oxidants and minerals. Including vitamin E, B-complex, protein, calcium, iron, zinc, selenium, magnesium, copper, manganese, potassium, and phosphorus.
- Walnuts (organic) are rich source of energy and contain health benefiting nutrients, minerals, antioxidants and vitamins that are essential for optimum health. Include omega 3, vitamin E, manganese, copper, potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc, and selenium
Many people recommend and swear by a 'raw food' diet. I personally prefer to have at least one hot meal a day, especially in cold weather.  Jacket Potatoes (these are not essential but I do love my JP's for dinner, so I'm recommending them)

Check out the Hippocrates Health Institute and Dr. Brian Clements: http://www.hippocratesinst.org/

Eat less Acidic foods and more Alkaline foods.

"Cancerous tissues are acidic, whereas healthy tissues are alkaline. Water splits into H+ and OH- ions, if there is an excess of H+, it is acidic; if there is an excess of OH- ions, then it is alkaline." - Dr. Otto Heinrich Warburg on The Root Cause of Cancer; effectively stating that 'Cancer can not exist in an alkaline body'!

Drink:
Lots of water, ideally with a slice of fresh lemon (lemon actually alkalises the water making it better for you)
Coconut water for better hydration, potassium and electrolytes (I prefer www.VitaCoco.com)
Fresh Vegetable juice, made yourself from organic vegetables
Fresh Fruit Juice
Find juice recipes from Jason Vale here www.juicemaster.com
Remove cow juice (dairy milk) from your diet, alternatives to try are Soya milk (organic of course), Almond milk, Coconut milk.

Greens in general are good but taste like swamp water
The following are nicer but still have a slight gritty/muddy taste ;-)
Well worth it for the benefits though.

Athletic Greens (see below for ingredients and suppliers)
Amazing Grass Green Superfood Drink Powder (see below for ingredients and suppliers)
Vega One (see below for ingredients and suppliers)

Essential Supplements:
- B12 drops
- Vitamin D drops
- Calcium and selenium will be covered by the nuts
- Omega 3 will be covered by the Chia Seeds

Diet programmes, fads and supplements are only good for people who eat lots of crappy processed food and have a poor diet to start with.
Anyone who changes their diet away from refined, processed foods to a lower calorie 'shake' will see an improvement, although I am wary of the contents and trying to decipher the questionable ingredients of many of them.
If you are already eating sensibly and want to improve your diet and health, then check out Vega products for "clean, plant based nutrition" - http://myvega.com/
Vega One is similar to (in my opinion and to give you an idea) a 'slim fast shake' - not for the purpose of losing weight but the fact it works as a meal replacement by making you feel full, from all that good stuff they cram in there.
You should look at real health supplements and changing your eating habits for the long term, not a get fit quick scheme or fad diets.

- Turpentine 100% Pure Gum medicinal grade for candida (DO NOT take until you have researched fully)

"On the topic of stress and inflammation, Adam explained that when you’re upset, there’s a direct neurological connection to your gut. Interestingly, your skin and gastrointestinal tract (GI tract) are continuous, like a donut shape, so any gut issues will show-up on your skin. Inflammation in your gut is largely due to stress and diet.  An inflamed gut attracts water (bloating) which can be a temporary discomfort.  However, when the GI tract is inflamed over a long period of time, the chronic inflammation damages the cells and results in something called “leaky gut”. In a healthy gut, cells are positioned tightly together.  In contrast, the damaged cells in a leaky gut are held loosely together which results in particles leaking into the blood stream that shouldn’t be there.  This can break down the immune system and result in a wide range of chronic diseases including skin cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer’s and congestive heart failure. To improve your nutrition he suggests adding glutamine, probiotics and omega 3s. "

Healthy living is a way of being and commitment to better eating habits, the same way people commit themselves to 'bad' habits such as eating chocolate bars, drinking fizzy pop, alcohol consumption and smoking cigarettes for example. These are choices that have been made and a continuing commitment to continue with.

Decide today to replace chosen 'bad' habits with better ones that serve you and your health.

Most Awesome Advice from Jim Rohn

Dont-wish-it-were-easier-wish-you-were-better
1. Review your performance - Always do more than you get paid for to make an investment in your future.
2. Face all your Fears - don't dismiss them, face them and wonder how you can change that.
3. Exercise your Willpower - pick a new destination and go that way. Change a degree at a time or revolutionise the whole thing in a week. Anybody can change, you don't have to repeat the last year, clean up the errors, invest it in next year.
4. Admit your mistakes - sometimes you have to admit them to others, say "I'm sorry"
Admit your mistakes to yourself! No use kidding yourself.
5. Refine your goals - Set some higher goals and reach for a higher purpose.
6. BELIEVE in YOURSELF.
7. Ask for Wisdom - wisdom that creates answers and faith to believe. To deal with the challenges. "Don't wish it was easier, wish you were better."
8. Conserve your Time - How much time do you have left? It's actually how many times do you have left, not years, the answer is just a few...
9. Invest your Profits - Profits are better than wages. Wages make you a living, profits make you a fortune.
10. Protect your Family. Troublesome times, protect them from the hidden dangers and lurking evil.
11. Live with Intensity - Turn it up a notch and invest more of you. Put everything you've got into everything you do and ask for more vitality, strength vigour, heart and soul.
12. Find your Place - in a job find the best place you can serve well. Do the best you can and your life will take great leaps forward. Work on your gifts and they will make room for you.
13. Demand Integrity from Yourself - integrity is like loyalty, can only demand it from yourself not others. Lead the way and attract others.
14. Welcome the Disciplines - disciplines create the reality and build bridges, cities, abundance and productivity.
15. Fight for what's Right - if you want something valuable, you have to fight for it.  THen be able to say "I fought a good fight" and "I kept the faith!"

The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore - take the time to look UP

Sometimes you just need a good, cheerful storybook to read, so it can inspire you to get rid of that flightless story of yours and write your own colourful adventure.

He asks himself (in his book) … If life is enjoyed does it have to make sense?

============

A Reading Group Guide for The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore - by William Joyce

Discussion questions - This is a story about books and hopes and about what you see if you take the time to look up.

1. At the beginning of the story, we learn that Morris Lessmore loved words. He loved stories and he loved books. What do you love?

2. After the storm, Morris feels lost and wanders around. Then he looks up and sees the flying lady with her squadron of flying books. Talk about how you see the world when you look down. How do you see the world when you look up?

3. The flying lady sees that Morris is sad and needs a new story so she gives him her favorite book. How can a story help someone feel better? Have you ever felt bad and then heard a story that made you feel better? What kinds of stories and books make you feel better?

4. Do you have any stories or special words that you tell yourself to help you feel better?

5. Every story has its upsets. Have you ever had an upset? Did anyone help you? What did you do to turn the upset around?

6. When Morris entered the building with all the books, he could hear faint chatter and it felt as if the books were asking to be opened and read. It has been said that every book needs a reader to bring it to life. What do you think?

7. Morris had lots of books: comedies, tragedies, encyclopedias. Can you think of other kinds of books he might have had in his library? What kinds of books would you want in your library?

8. What do you think it means to be lost in a book? Have you ever been lost in a book?

9. Why do you think Morris enjoyed sharing his books? Do you ever recommend or suggest books to friends? Talk about your favorite books and why you like them.

10. Things end and things begin again. How does it feel to know that when Morris decided it was time for him to leave, he ended the journey as he began it – being carried lightly away by the books and with a book opening? How does it feel to know that the little girl then began the journey?

11. When you leave, what matters most is what you’ve taken in – the memories, stories, and experiences. What would you like to be inside you?

12. At the end of the book Morris flies off with his favorite books. How can books make you fly?

13. Morris’s life was a book of his own writing. He wrote about his joys and sorrows, all that he knew and everything that he hoped for. What are your hopes?

14. Lessmore is an interesting name. Do you think it has any special meaning? When is less more?

15. This book has a special dedication page. Does reading it give you any new understanding of the story?

16. “If stories come to you, care for them. And learn to give them away where they are needed. Sometimes a person needs a story more than food to stay alive.” (Barry Lopez, Crow and Weasel) Do you think Morris Lessmore would agree? What do you think?

Activities & Projects

1. The pictures in this book are very beautiful, whimsical and expressive. Try reading the book again just looking at the pictures. Do you notice anything new in pictures or the story that you didn’t see before? How do the pictures help to tell the story?

2. Libraries are a place where people share books. Visit a library. Notice all the different books. Do any of them call out to you to be read? Ask the librarian to recommend some of her favorite books.

3. Start your own library at home and/or in your class. Morris tried to arrange his library, but the books had their own ideas. How would you organize your library? What books would you put next to each other? Make special book plates with your name or the name of your class.

4. Make your own book. You can fold several sheets of paper and staple them together. Put a photo of yourself on the first page. Tell all about you. For different kinds of books and different ways to make them, check out the internet with a parent or teacher. A good place to start is http://tlc.howstuffworks.com/family/book-crafts.htm You can also learn how to make book plates and book jackets.

5. Morris loved words. What are some of your favorite words? Are there any words that make you feel bad? Make a list of words about when you feel happy, sad, brave, or silly.

6. Ask a parent or teacher to help you cut up magazines, newspapers or cereal boxes and create a collage of some of your favorite words.

7. Do a book advertisement. Draw or record or write about a book you like in a way that makes it sound interesting to other people. Create a web page or blog with your favorite titles.

8. Keep a dream book. Write about your hopes and dreams. Decorate the cover and include drawings and photos.

9. Have a party. Make special invitations asking everyone to come dressed as a favorite book character. Play charades or guessing games about the books the characters come from.

10. This book is also an Academy® Award-winning animated short. With a parent or teacher’s help, watch the movie on YouTube. Talk about the differences and similarities between the movie version and the book.

11. Find out more about the author, William Joyce and read other books he has written and illustrated. Good Karma vs. Bad Karma - Say, Do and Think Good Deeds

Some people understand the lessons of karma, others don't believe in it.  Are you one of the people who really 'gets' it or do you need to find a tangible reason to do the right thing?

Here's are a couple of profound articles I found online about Karma, that I thought would be right to share with you.  Also how to purify any bad karma and mistakes you may have made in your life.

Remember - what goes around comes around, so do GOOD deeds!

Enjoy,
Bobby

----------

Good Karma vs. Bad Karma

Don't be short-changed by short-sightedness
At a grocery store, a clerk accidentally gives a woman a five-dollar bill in change instead of a one-dollar bill. The woman quietly takes her change and thanks her lucky stars. The next day she parks her car on the street and later discovers a dent in her car door and a broken side view mirror. The cost to repair it? $500 exactly.

Practice Safe Karma
Nobody is immune to karmic law. It's like gravity, only karma goes beyond the laws of physics to the mysteries of time -- birth, death and re-birth. Are you scared yet? Don't be. You don't have to fear karma if you understand the rules of the game. Just get out there onto the playing field -- your life -- and keep practicing to get good karma. Go out of your way to be honest, or keep a promise, and see how the good effects start stacking up. The clerk you return the correct change to will learn to trust you, and she, or maybe someone else, just might give you a break when one day you forget your wallet at home. You'll see.

When Bad Karma Happens to Good People
Some people do seem to just have bad karma. We see it all the time. But even if you've brought all your negative energies from past lifetimes into this one, you can make good causes and transform your bad karma from this day forward. Nearly every human being has the ability to tell right from wrong, good from bad, but some of us have taken more spins on the wheel of life than others and have learned how karma works.

Cosmic Karmic Time
Just as Isaac Newton's third law of motion -- to every action there is an equal and opposite reaction -- explains physical forces, karma explains laws of thought and energy, cause and effect. An obstacle to recognising or even believing in the cause and effect aspect of karmic law may be time itself, sort of like “'karma lag.”  Sometimes, an act you commit today may take months or years, or even lifetimes, to show up as an effect in your life or the universe. And it becomes extremely hard to tell which action caused which result, never mind supply a reasonable explanation for why we seem to be paying unfairly for something we didn't control -- or did we?

Can I Escape Karma?
Karma says that, until you learn a lesson, you will continue to receive the same message through repeated experiences. If the woman from the grocery store didn't put two and two together and realise she'd created her own negative energy, she'd probably suffer more financial losses down the road. It's kind of like getting left back in school. When you are fully conscious of all your past actions, thoughts and emotions, and the lessons they brought you, you are ready to move ahead to the next grade … and even choose your next classroom.

How to Purify Bad Karma

The old saying "What goes around comes around" is a simple way to explain the notion of "karma." Meaning "action" in Sanskrit, karma in Buddhism means that none of our actions are insignificant; the things we do determine what things will happen to us. With karma, action equals reaction; if we act in a positive manner, good things will happen to us. Conversely, negative actions result in negative reactions. Believers in reincarnation believe we carry our positive and negative karma with us from one life to the next. Thubten Chodren, a Buddhist nun and teacher who studied under the Dalai Lama, says you can purify your bad karma by practicing The Four Opponent Powers: Power of Regret, Power of Reliance/Repairing the Relationship, Power of Determination not to Repeat the Action, and Power of Remedial Action.

1. Regret your negative actions. Buddhism teaches that "regret" is different than "guilt." When you feel guilty about the action, it is self-serving because it centers on you and how you feel. Regret, on the other hand, "has an element of wisdom; it notices our mistakes and regrets them," Chodren says. If you've acted in a harmful way, you should think about what you've done and how your actions have negatively affected others. You should also think about how those actions may hurt you and others in the future.

2. Try to repair the damage done by your negative actions. If your actions have caused harm upon another person or persons, it is important to apologize to them for what you've done. Sometimes this isn't possible because the person is dead, we've lost touch with him or we don't know who our actions have damaged. This is okay since what is more important, says Chodren, is to repair the damage within your own mind. "Here, we generate love and compassion, and the altruistic intention for those whom previously we held bad feelings about," she says. By changing those negative emotions within us that caused us to act negatively in the first place, we can change ourselves from within.

3. Strive not to repeat that negative action in the future. You should set it in your mind that you will not commit the negative act again; the longer you are able to keep that promise to yourself, the more confidence you will gain that you can break bad habits and act in more positive ways. It is not always easy to do this, so if you do find yourself repeating a negative action, such as losing your temper or gossiping, Chodren says you should tell yourself you will not repeat the action for the next 2 days. Once you've achieved that goal, you can say to yourself "I will continue to try and not do that again."

4. Take positive action. Practicing Buddhists have many methods of remedial action including reciting mantras, making offerings to a monastery or temple, and meditating. Chodren says you can also do things like perform community service such as volunteering at a hospital, feeding the homeless or teaching people to read. Any action that benefits others can be considered a remedial action.

Divided We Fall - United 'I' Stand

What if everyone's differences are the same…  What if everybody just wants to be allowed to live in security, peace and happiness...  Why do people choose to immediately believe the 'labels' given by mind controllers (media, government, leaders) to help fulfil their own agendas!?  Is one life worth more than another and what price do they then put on yours?

Below is an article from David Icke that explains in simple terms what an 'extremist' is and why it is easier for rulers to conquer people when they are divided.  Stirring up hatred is not the answer but real education of what truly goes on!

Understand that people are defending their beliefs, sold to them by their leaders, whilst attacking others - be it at home or abroad.  If it's not your home it is still someone else's because once you remove the imagined borders it is one spaceship Earth that we co-exist upon. Is it really worth fighting and dying for someone else's agenda to control their sectors and that of others?

More to the point, what is the content of your Character? Do you have extremist beliefs or are you open-minded, conscious and looking for a better solution?

Plug into the alternative media for a broader picture of the whole truth, so you are really aware of what is going on.

Love and peace to all - and a greater consciousness too.

Bobby

Will you excuse me a moment? I’ll be back shortly …

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Right, that’s a bit better … one more should do it …
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, we’re off. I just required some temporary relief from the monumental frustration that comes from watching complete idiots act like complete idiots while being played on a stringed instrument by other complete idiots. It is quite a sight, but not recommended too often in the interests of emotional health.

So let it out, breathe deeply and we can bring some calm and basic intelligence to the madness that confronts us.

To the white supremacists (if that’s the master race we are in deep shit) and to the fanatics on the extreme end of Islam (thugs and crazies exploiting Islam for their own ends) I have a few simple words. Maybe even they will be able to activate and bring forth sufficient brain power to understand them and their implications:
DIVIDE AND RULE.

In case they are still struggling I will helpfully provide some simple definitions in the context that they are being used:
Divide – ‘To cause to separate into opposing factions; disunite’;
Rule – ‘Exercise ultimate power or authority over (an area and its people)’.
Rulers = the few; and ruled = the many.
For the few to rule the many the many have to be caused ‘to separate into opposing factions; disunite’. I could leave it there, really, because anyone with a modicum of neuron activity can see from these simple concepts why the Control System works so hard and constantly to divide the target population along the fracture lines of race, religion and so much else.

But clearly white supremacists, black supremacists, sky-blue-pink supremacists and the extremes of Islam, Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism, etcetera, etcetera, etbloodycetera, cannot see the obvious through the red mist of self-righteousness and their crazed, staring eyes.

The irony of ironies is that they are all the same mind wearing a different uniform and proclaiming a different cause – although domination for race and religion is the common theme even in that.

If a white supremacist was born a Muslim he would be an extreme Muslim fanatic. It is not the cause that matters; it is the consciousness – or lack of it.

As Martin Luther King said: ‘I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the colour of their skin, but by the content of their character.’

It is the content of character that makes white people, black people, sky-blue-pink people, Muslims, Jews, Christians, Hindus and so on live their lives in peace and mutual respect. It is simply a different content of character that leads factions within all of them to act like complete morons for which the Control System is in a constant state of applause.

How to identify a terrorist?

Are you still wondering about the religious wars and the term 'terrorist' used to generally describe muslims these days? As opposed to those using military weapons like drones to murder civilians in countries that the USA is not even officially at war with - Terrorism from the skies!

This post is for those that like to know the facts from as many perspectives as possible, think for themselves, then make up their own mind.  For the rest, head back over to CNN, BBC or pop News channel of choice.

Even the mainstream media does not report about crimes committed by American politicians and war-mongers, as if it's not important for Americans to know.
With mainstream News and print media and newspapers only reporting the 'official' story that they are allowed to broadcast and avoiding any real investigation or journalism that may contradict that story.  Most News reporters are not real journalists or news investigators.
With regards to Wars, the 'winner' writes (or re-writes if necessary) the history books to tell the story the way that they like it.

Listen to President Obama joke about Predator Drones….

Now, what religion is a terrorist and how can you spot them based on what you know?

Who started the First World War? Who started the Second World War? Who killed about 20 millions of Aborigines in Australia? Who sent the nuclear bombs of Hiroshima and Nagasaki? Who killed more than 100 millions of Indians in North America? Who killed more than 50 millions of Indians in South America? Who took about 180 millions of African people as slaves and 88% of them died and was thrown in Atlantic Ocean?

Hitler incinerated 6 million Jews and because of him 60 million were killed in World War 2.
Joseph Stalin (Uncle Joe) killed 20 million people including 14.5 million were starved to death.
Mao Tse Tsung of China killed 20-14 million people.
Benito Mussolini of Italy killed 400,000
Maximilien Robespierre, during the French revolution starved and tortured to death 200,000 & executed 40,000 people
Ashoku in one battle of Kalinga killed more than 100,000 people

Iraq Body Count web counter In recent bombardments US and NATO are killing 100s of 1000 of innocent people (Not Taliban) just for fun in Afghanistan and Iraq and other countries…

[I won't list all the wars that US, NATO have been involved in, you either know already or have chosen ignorance]

First of all, you have to define terrorism properly...
If a non-Muslim does something bad and kills people, it is crime.
But if a Muslim commits the same, he is terrorist.
So first remove this double standard… then come to the point!

What is the point and how do you spot a terrorist?

The real religion of war is Greed and Power, promoted by politicians and leaders around the world, funded by corporations (which will make a good return on it as well).
They then claim to do it for their own country and the country they are 'liberating'!
And recruit everyday citizens to go do the dirty work, whether it be covertly or openly.

See where the money and control flows to know who is behind creating fear in other countries and their own.

Want to know who is really responsible for attacks?  Who are the real terrorists...  Look up!
(That is not a reference to God but the political structure.)

-------------

I'm surprised this even made it to FOX News, FBI have been shown to be involved in Government false flag terrorist attacks! This is one of the most honest analysis on mainstream media.

Update: Boston Bombing Suspects not being discussed in mainstream media - Craft International

Do you know there's a private military force called Craft who have a motto - "despite what your mamma told you, violence does solve problems" http://www.thecraft.com/craft_skull.html
Well they were at the Boston Marathon as well! Just sharing the FACTS, that one of these Government Contractors appears to have lost a backpack right next to the blast zone!

Here is a copy of an image found online about Boston Marathon bombing suspects brought up by people who really want to catch those guilty. The FBI and mass media has ignored these pictures that raise many questions. Don't you think it would be worth investigating to catch all the terror creators involved?

New Years Day and Tax Day (History rewritten)

Do you know why 6th April is Tax day?  When did the New Year actually start, 25th of March or 1st of January?  And was Christmas Day more than just a pagan/christian festival celebration, as it also coincidentally marked the start of the last Quarter of the Year?

Did you know you can celebrate the Feast of Easter celebration again next month, as the Catholic one based on the Gregorian Calendar is over - but the Orthodox Easter based on the Julian Calendar is still to happen!

History rewritten - dates are not all what you think they are…

Here's an interesting article I found about Calendars being 'reformed' in 1752.  This also means that any dates before 1752 are not linear, so the dates and times may not be correct. - but luckily we're moving forwards so it shouldn't be a problem if you were born after 1752!

-------------

Calendar Reform in England, 1752

In September 1752, Great Britain switched from the Julian Calendar to the Gregorian Calendar. In order to achieve the change, 11 days were 'omitted' from the calendar - i.e. the day after 2 September 1752 was 14 September 1752.
This change was as a result of an Act of Parliament - the "Calendar Act" of 1751 An Act for Regulating the Commencement of the Year; and for Correcting the Calendar now in Use.

What isn't so widely known is a second change which the Act introduced - as named in the first part of the Act's title. The Act changed the first day of the year (or, if you want to impress your friends with a new word, the Supputation of the Year).

Prior to 1752 in England, the year began on 25 March (Lady Day). Lady Day is one of the Quarter Days, which are still used in legal circles. The Quarter Days divide the year in quarters (hence the name), and the Quarter Days are: Lady Day (25 March), Midsummers Day (24 June), Michaelmas Day (29 September), and Christmas Day (25 December).

So, in England, the day after 24 March 1642 was 25 March 1643. The Act changed this, so that the day after 31 December 1751 was 1 January 1752. As a consequence, 1751 was a short year - it ran only from 25 March to 31 December. To throw some more confusion on the issue, Scotland had changed the first day of the year to 1 January in 1600 (in 1600, Scotland was a separate kingdom). When King James VI of Scotland became also King James I of England in 1603, the possibilities of date confusion must have been very large.

Historians have to be on their toes with dates prior to 1752. For example, in The Tower of London there is some graffiti scratched into a cell wall by someone imprisoned in January 1642 for his role in the Battle of Edgehill (which took place on 23 October 1642).

The UK Tax Year starts on...

Lady Day was one of the days when rents were traditionally due. In fact, this practice must have continued will beyond the 18th century as I've seen paintings of large meals for farm workers on Lady Day. Taxes were also due on Lady Day. With the 'loss' of 11 days in September 1752 and the stories of riots on the street, people weren't impressed with having to pay their taxes in March 1753 like nothing had happened (in fact, as 25 March 1753 was a Sunday the taxes were due on Monday 26 March 1753 ) - so the taxman skipped the 11 days and decreed that taxes were due on 6 April 1753. And, to this day, the UK tax year starts on 6 April.

You sell three of them to your publicly listed company, using letters of credit opened by your brother-in-law at the bank, then execute a debt/equity swap with an associated general offer so that you get all four cows back, with a tax exemption for five cows.
The milk rights of the six cows are transferred via an intermediary to a Cayman Island Company secretly owned by the majority shareholder who sells the rights to all seven cows back to your listed company.
The annual report says the company owns eight cows, with an option on one more. You sell one cow to buy a new president of the United States , leaving you with nine cows. No balance sheet provided with the release.
The public then buys your bull.

You have two cows.
You redesign them so they are one-tenth the size of an ordinary cow and produce twenty times the milk.
You then create a clever cow cartoon image called a Cowkimona and market it worldwide.

AN ITALIAN CORPORATION
You have two cows,
but you don't know where they are.
You decide to have lunch.

A SWISS CORPORATION
You have 5000 cows. None of them belong to you.
You charge the owners for storing them.

You have two cows.
You worship them.

A BRITISH CORPORATION
You have two cows.
Both are mad.

AN IRAQI CORPORATION

You have two cows.
Business seems pretty good.
You close the office and go for a few beers to celebrate.

How often do you get the chance to meet someone who has literally dined on the deck of Titanic, skydived over Mount Everest, and paid out of his own pocket to go through real Astronaut training??

I can't tell you how excited I am to introduce you to one of the most incredible people that I have ever met... A REAL LIVE ASTRONAUT! And Self-Made Multi-Millionaire and Thrillionaire!

It's not very often that we have the opportunity to hear from a real life self-made multi-millionaire, not only how he did it, but how WE can also finally create that elusive financial freedom that we keep promising ourselves & our families.

Not only did this guy 'retire' as a multi-millionaire before age 30, he is also one of the very few people on the planet who has followed his lifelong dream of becoming an Astronaut, and committed to self-fund the $30m training costs.

This is your only opportunity to see him for free if you book NOW! My friend Mike Berry who is promoting the event has offered me some complimentary tickets to pass to my friends.

The dates and locations for the event are:
London, Saturday 20th April 2013
