Ended up saving some amazing shots, then we got ahead by 5-0. Before the other team caught up but we still won by a goal. Great team work and keeping our cool meant we came out ahead...

there is an even quicker way. Reveal the Hide button by hovering mouse over top right corner of any of these posts. when you click hide it will ask if you want to hide just the application or the person as well. So you don't have to completely rid yourself of posts by that person. Unless you want to of course!!! lol

Have you thought of finding a tenant buyer and let them refurb the property for you?

If the property is in the South East, I may be interested in providing a lease option for you.

Why do we keep making the same mistakes?

Great article, thanks to Eloise Ansell of Flourishment for posting this link on facebook.

An exercise that gets people to look at why they repeat the same behaviour over and over again.

Either we need to change our behaviour OR acknowledge that it is what we do and are 'happy' to continue (hence won't complain about it ever again!) At least it gives everyone else some peace and quiet!

The definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results [Einstein]

Bobby :-)

---------------

One question that arises often in practice is “Why do I keep making the same mistakes?”

The question that could trigger us to think outside the box is “How does it serve you to keep making mistakes?” “What is the payoff?”

This requires a pen, paper, and sitting down HONESTLY and writing a list of what you gain from making mistakes or whatever your rut is.

You can make a list for one of your addictions, habits, and/or neediness’ i.e. a behaviour you are driven to do. Identify something that you are compelled to do and cannot stop doing but would like to have a choice to do or not to do.

Then make a list of what you gain from this behaviour. What is the payoff every time you behave in this way.

For example, one client used over-eating as an example. She began to write the list of what she gains by over-eating, such as:“Comfort” “Love”, “Importance”, “Calm” “Relaxation” “Fun”, “Joy”, “Happiness”, “

Once you make your list look at it closely. You can see that the list is a list of what you lack.

Next re-experience your driven behaviour, feel it as though you are doing it right now and then feel everything you gain from it, as in the example: love, comfort, importance. Really live the driven behaviour, how you cannot stop it and then really feel what you gain from the behaviour: such as love, comfort and so forth.

Now you should see that your driven behaviour is dishonest and your addiction-acknowledge this out loud to yourself.

At this point just seeing that our driven behaviours are supplying us with something believe we lack shifts our awareness. We shift from thinking we are just helpless victims of our addictions to seeing that we are fulfilling a goal that undermines us in the end. Of course there are many other goals we have I look forward to hearing the goals you have found that you are addicted to achieving.

Google execs convicted in Italy over abuse video

Bad news for those that upload information and videos to the internet... if internet hosting service providers can be taken to court, how long before they take the free service away from genuine people? Who is to police the web as it promotes freedom of speech - and the imbeciles that abuse it? Well they ruin it for everyone else!
"It attacks the very principles of freedom on which the internet is built."
And a warning to users, beware! If anything looks like it could upset the majority, the same people will help to convict you.
Google said. “We also worked with the police to help identify the person responsible for uploading it...”
Not to worry though, as in real life - privacy online is a myth, as much as the government, banks, mobile phone providers and Tescos not storing information on you!  Just keep your nose clean and you won't have anything to worry about.

And remember, don't invest in hosting companies else you could be liable for the info uploaded by users. Saying "it's not fair" and asking the lawyers to use "common sense" doesn't work, as Common Sense died a long time ago... What happened to Common Sense?
"Common sense dictates that only the person who films and uploads a video to a hosting platform could take the steps necessary to protect the privacy and obtain the consent of the people they are filming."
Bobby
------------------------------------------

Three Google bosses were today convicted of violating the privacy of a boy with Down's syndrome in a ruling that could also affect websites such as YouTube and Facebook.

The men received suspended six-month sentences after the internet giant allowed a video of the teenager being abused to be posted online.

“This is the biggest threat to internet freedom we have seen in Europe,” said MP Tom Watson. “The only people who will support this decision are Silvio Berlusconi and the governments of China and Iran. It effectively breaks the internet in Italy.”

The two prosecutors who brought the case against the US-based firm praised the ruling for protecting personal interest above corporate profit. "We are very satisfied because by means of this trial we have posed a serious problem: that is to say, the protection of human beings, which must prevail over corporate interests," they said in a statement.
The case stems from an incident in 2006 when four boys in Turin filmed and uploaded a 191-second clip of them bullying a schoolmate with Down's syndrome. It shows the youths making fun of the boy, before punching and kicking him. One of the attackers then makes a mocking call to Viva Down, an advocacy group for people with Down's syndrome. The complaint was brought by the charity and the boy's father.

“The video was totally reprehensible and we took it down within hours of being notified by the Italian police,” Google said. “We also worked with the police to help identify the person responsible for uploading it and she was sentenced to 10 months community service, as were several other classmates.”

The case has potentially vast implications for the future of the internet. Hosting platforms such as Facebook and YouTube argue that they cannot be held responsible for content created by their users until they are informed that something is illegal. The Italian prosecutors contended that Google was negligent in not removing the video sooner.

All of Google's employees, who were convicted in absentia, denied wrongdoing. It is expected that the company's lawyers will argue on appeal that the verdict is at odds with an EU directive from 2000 that gave hosting platforms a so-called "safe harbour" from prosecution, so long as they acted promptly to remove illegal content.

In a statement, Google called the outcome of the case "surprising to say the least, since our colleagues had nothing to do with the video in question: they did not make it; they did not upload it, and they have not seen it.

"We are deeply troubled by this conviction for another equally important reason," it added. "It attacks the very principles of freedom on which the internet is built. Common sense dictates that only the person who films and uploads a video to a hosting platform could take the steps necessary to protect the privacy and obtain the consent of the people they are filming."

Mr Drummond, who is Google's chief legal officer, vowed to fight his conviction. He said: “I am outraged by the decision … If individuals like myself and my Google colleagues who had nothing to do with the harassing incident, its filming or its uploading onto Google Video can be held criminally liable solely by virtue of our positions at Google every employee of any internet hosting service faces similar liability.”

The Influence of Social Media on Valentine’s Day

Great article showing the link between social media, relationships and how you can get (and stay) more connected with your loved one!

Bobby

-----------------------------
"This year on Valentine’s Day, people are taking full advantage of all that social media has to offer to build on their special relationships.
What does Valentine’s Day have to do with social media? What they have in common is relationships. Social media is about building relationships. Valentine’s Day is about paying attention to relationships and strengthening relationship bonds. There are several important aspects of social media relationships that apply to all relationships: listening (knowing what your clients are saying about you), empathizing (connecting with your clients and trying to understand why they feel the way that they do), being transparent (honesty builds trust and without trust, your business will not succeed), showing appreciation (express how much you value your clients), and being passionate (long-lasting and valuable relationships are filled with passion, dedication, and hard work).

People use social networks to connect with people with whom they have existing relationships. In the process, they also form new relationships. Social networks allow you to share media and to customize your look and feel online. People can form online groups that consist of people who all share common interests. Special occasions, such as Valentine’s Day, create a whirlwind of activity on social networks. People are looking for the perfect gift for that special person or for themselves.

Searching online for Valentine’s Day ideas produces a huge volume of new articles, social networking suggestions, commercial offerings, and live twitter feeds. Before social media was available, the standard flowers and chocolates were gratefully accepted. Now, social media is ensuring that everyone tries to get more creative and exciting gifts to show how much they care. In today’s difficult economy, people are trying to be generous without hurting themselves financially.

Here are some fun gifts and gift ideas for your sweetheart using social media:
  • Create a personalized Facebook ad—You can create an ad that will only be seen by one user. You can make it as special as you want without any fear that you are sharing it with the whole world.
  • Upload a karaoke cover of your song on YouTube—It will be considered very romantic if you sing a song for your sweetheart in a room full of people. In fact, in this case, you will be singing in front of the entire World Wide Web. Share your recording on social media channels so that it is perfectly clear who your sweetheart is.
  • Schedule new @replies by the hour through HootSuite—Send a new reason for loving him or her every hour for 24 hours. You can set it all up in advance and HootSuite will automatically work its magic.
  • Buy a generous Facebook gift (for charity)—Facebook’s online gift shop has an entire collection of gifts for charity. Whatever you spend will go to the charitable organization of your choice.
  • Use the Sweethearts iPhone app to share personalized Sweethearts candies via Twitter—You can create, order and share Sweethearts with creative and special messages.
Of course, Valentine’s Day gifts are not the only things that are dominating the social media world. Ideas for celebrating Valentine’s Day cards, dates, surprises, proposals and other inventive ways to light a fire in a relationship or add something different and sweet to a friendship are all around us. In addition to gifts and ideas on how to celebrate, people are making plans to do something special within their budget.

Many popular sites, including Amazon and Oprah, have released lists of affordable gift ideas. Most websites offer a filter where items can be sorted by price. If you don’t want to guess what your sweetheart would like, Amazon also offers a wish list option where people can choose what they want, which avoids the recipient being disappointed as well as the giver not having to stress over whether he or she has bought the perfect gift.
For those people who find Valentine’s Day annoying, there are humorous gift online, such as fun things to do if you are single and broken-heart cookies. There is also a list online of the top worst Valentine’s Day gift ideas along with a list of the most unoriginal ideas and the worst Valentine’s Day dates.

With social media continuing to be a networking and economic giant, nobody will be left with a bad Valentine’s Day gift this year. Whether you love or hate the holiday, there is something that will please everyone. You should definitely take advantage of social media this Valentine’s Day, whether the result is a feeling of softness and sentimentality or amusement. In any case, a whole world full of possible gift ideas is open to you."

Touching words from the mouth of babes - When asked 'What does love mean?'

Rebecca- age 8

'When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.'

Cindy - age 8

'My mommy loves me more than anybody You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night.'

Chris - age 7

'Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.'

Mary Ann - age 4

'I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones.'

Lauren - age 4

'When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.' (what an image)

Karen - age 7

'Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross.'

Mark - age 6

'You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.'

Jessica - age 8

And the final one:
A four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife.
Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there.
When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said, 'Nothing, I just helped him cry'

Robin Hood Tax - Rob the Rich (Banks) to pay the Poor (Government)

A coalition of British organizations calling itself the Robin Hood Tax campaign is proposing a new tax on banks to fund global anti-poverty and anti-climate change initiatives. The idea is to skim about 0.05% off of all speculative banking transactions, which proponents say would raise hundreds of billions of dollars each year and forge "a new deal between banks and society":
"It sounds complicated, but actually it isn't. A tiny tax on bankers has the power to raise hundreds of billions every year - giving a vital boost to the NHS, our schools, and the fight against child poverty - as well as tackling poverty and climate change around the world."
In an ad for the campaign, British actor Bill Nighy, who will star in the next installment of the Harry Potter films, plays a haughty banker who's forced to admit the tax would barely phase the finance industry.

Goldman Sachs faces 'Robin Hood tax' vote-rigging claims

Goldman Sachs is investigating claims that one of its computers was used to rig a public vote on the introduction of a so-called “Robin Hood tax” on bankers.
Technical staff for the Robinhoodtax.org.uk website said the “no” counter increased at a “dramatic rate” from 3.41pm.
The number of “no” votes jumped from 1,400 to 6,000 before campaigners – who are calling for the introduction of 0.05pc tax on banking transactions – tightened the site’s security.
Robin Hood’s security team claimed it traced the erroneous votes to two computers, one of which is allegedly registered as belonging to Goldman.
A spokesman for Goldman said the bank had “just received this information and is investigating fully”.
After being flooded with concerned messages from Facebook and Twitter users, the website displayed the following message: “For all those who have noticed something strange happening on the vote, please don’t worry. Someone is playing games. But at lunchtime we posted a spy in a high tree and are working to catch the culprit. The count has been reset to remove these false votes and our guards are now back on the gate. Please keep voting (fair) people.”
By 8pm on Thursday the “yes” vote had a substantial lead on the “no” camp, with 21,300 votes compared with 2,600.
The campaign has attracted a string of celebrity endorsements, including Four Weddings and a Funeral writer Richard Curtis and Love Actually actor Bill Nighy.
The campaign, supported by groups including Barnado’s, the RSPB, the NUT and the Unite union, claims the tax – which is based on Nobel Laureate economist James Tobin’s idea from 1972 – could generate £255bn worldwide a year."
